Rear Axle

Whilst removed, I gave the axle a good clean and a coat of paint, stripped and overhauled the brake expanders and replaced the pinion seal and both half shaft seals. The pinion seal was weaping a little, but the half shaft seals were dry. As they were the original leather seals I replaced them with the later type neoprene seals with double lips. They are the same as fitted to Land Rovers. The rear axles on Rovers changed very little over the years with the same basic design been fitted to Range Rovers.
